In April 2001 Christies in New York held the auction PROPERTY FROM MANHEIM GALLERIES, NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, which included the work End of the day by Charles Thomas Burt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,648.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Charles Thomas Burt have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March last year the work On the moors was auctioned for GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,534.97).
