In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale, which included the work The Gamekeeper by Charles Towne. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,394.49) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Towne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 214,460.15).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Gamekeeper von Charles Towne zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.394,49) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Towne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bay hunter and three pointers in a landscape with Lyston Hall beyond im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 214.460,15).
