A top price for Chen Guan - as previously expected
The work Studio in the Shade by Chen Guan was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The price achieved of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 85,639.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 600,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Studio in the Shade is the most expensive artwork by Chen Guan that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Studio in the Shade von Chen Guan wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 85.639,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 600.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Studio in the Shade das teuerste Kunstwerk von Chen Guan, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
