Description

Chen Shu (1660-1736), a handscroll
in ink on silk, depicting a continuous scene of swallows amongst prunus, chrysanthemums, irises, peonies and willow -- 9½in. x 129½in. (24.1cm. x 328.9cm.), signed and sealed, brocade mount and silk end section.

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Chen Shu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2008. In the Chinese Art auction, the work a handscroll sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,569.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Shu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Guan Zhongji in April 2018 with an auction result of HKD 354,000.00 (€ 37,352.66).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Shu erzielte im November 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Art wurde die Arbeit a handscroll für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.569,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Shu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Guan Zhongji im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 354.000,00 (€ 37.352,66).
