This artwork by Cheong Soo Pieng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Communion sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 14,875.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheong Soo Pieng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nature's Inspiration in November this year with an auction result of HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielte im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Communion für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 14.875,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70).
