The work Kelong Scene by Cheong Soo Pieng was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. It achieved a price of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 38,239.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheong Soo Pieng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nature's Inspiration in November this year with an auction result of HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).

Die Arbeit Kelong Scene von Cheong Soo Pieng wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 38.239,07) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70).
