Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Les collines du Sud (The Hills of South) by Chu Teh-Chun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 3,500,000.00 – 5,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,783,000.00 (€ 453,337.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chu Teh-Chun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Harmonie Hivernale in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 229,568,000.00 (€ 24,578,851.54).
