A top price for Cornelis Decker - as previously expected
The work A river landscape with a woman at the door of a cottage and a fisherman bringing in his catch by Cornelis Decker was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 56,440.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A river landscape with a woman at the door of a cottage and a fisherman bringing in his catch is the most expensive artwork by Cornelis Decker that we have observed at auctions so far.
