Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Barbara Hepworth achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Stringed Figure sold for GBP 516,900.00 (€ 600,490.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Barbara Hepworth erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Stringed Figure für GBP 516.900,00 (€ 600.490,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
