It achieved a price of GBP 132,300.00 (€ 156,856.54), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).

Die Arbeit Two curved forms on a grey ground von Barbara Hepworth wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 132.300,00 (€ 156.856,54) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 65%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
