Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Elisabeth Frink achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Bird sold for GBP 52,920.00 (€ 62,742.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elisabeth Frink achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seated Man in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 1,082,500.00 (€ 1,352,531.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Elisabeth Frink erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Bird für GBP 52.920,00 (€ 62.742,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elisabeth Frink erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seated Man im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.082.500,00 (€ 1.352.531,96).
