This artwork by Darren Woodhead achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2017. In the The Astor Collection from Tillypronie, Aberdeenshire auction, the work Two ptarmigan; peregrine falcon; ptarmigan sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,657.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Darren Woodhead; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ptarmigan sold at auction in December 2017 with the realized price of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,501.41).
