"CERCO DE NOCHES".- Los momentos sucesivos, en toda la extensión esférica de la tierra, en que las sombras van aprisionando a la luz. Negro azul o verde arriba y negro rojo abajo. Negro frío en la alta atmósfera y negro caliente en la tierra.

The work Cerco de Noches by David Alfaro Siqueiros was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2018. The »bidding war« ended at USD 87,500.00 (€ 74,978.58), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by David Alfaro Siqueiros have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paisaje Rojo (Abstracción) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 425,000.00 (€ 385,697.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Cerco de Noches von David Alfaro Siqueiros wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 74.978,58) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Alfaro Siqueiros auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paisaje Rojo (Abstracción) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 425.000,00 (€ 385.697,43).
