Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Hall McKewan could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Figures on a track in a wooded landscape changed hands for GBP 235.00 (€ 401.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Admittedly, works by David Hall McKewan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Harlech Castle, North Wales in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,742.84).
