In March this year Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work A Glass Table with Still Life by David Hockney. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 176,400.00 (€ 200,689.07), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Glass Table with Still Life von David Hockney zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 176.400,00 (€ 200.689,07) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
