This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year. In the Discovery on Sunset auction, the work Ojai Festival sold for USD 1,152.00 (€ 1,056.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hockney erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Discovery on Sunset wurde die Arbeit Ojai Festival für USD 1.152,00 (€ 1.056,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
