This artwork by David Shepherd achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2021. In the European & British Art auction, the work Elephants and a Baobab Tree, Africa sold for GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,507.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Shepherd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work After the Rains - Evening in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 115,250.00 (€ 142,135.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Shepherd erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European & British Art wurde die Arbeit Elephants and a Baobab Tree, Africa für GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.507,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Shepherd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit After the Rains - Evening in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 115.250,00 (€ 142.135,26).
