This artwork by David Shrigley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Paris in January 2024. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Sans titre (Layers of Meaningslessness) 2012 sold for EUR 5,376.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Shrigley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (It's OK) in March last year with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,754.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Shrigley erzielte im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Sans titre (Layers of Meaningslessness) 2012 für EUR 5.376,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Shrigley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (It's OK) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.754,80).
