Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British Figures By A Cottage; The Fair Haymaker by David Woodlock was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,593.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Woodlock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Landscape Painter, which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,170.33).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.593,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von David Woodlock mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Landscape Painter beobachtet, die im November 2005 für GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.170,33) versteigert wurde.
