Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Epic of Gilgamesh: Gilgamesh and Enkidu by Dia Al-Azzawi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part II auction at Christies in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 16,380.00 (€ 18,980.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dia Al-Azzawi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 235,500.00 (€ 214,833.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Epic of Gilgamesh: Gilgamesh and Enkidu von Dia Al-Azzawi wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, Part II bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 16.380,00 (€ 18.980,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dia Al-Azzawi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 235.500,00 (€ 214.833,06).
