Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shakl Ihtifali (Celebration Form) by Dia Al-Azzawi was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 31,500.00 (€ 36,983.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Dia Al-Azzawi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 235,500.00 (€ 214,833.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shakl Ihtifali (Celebration Form) von Dia Al-Azzawi wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIraqi Masterpieces from the Jawdat, Madhloom and Selim Collections bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 31.500,00 (€ 36.983,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dia Al-Azzawi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Arsak Mowt (Your Wedding is Death) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 235.500,00 (€ 214.833,06).
