However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Doménikos Theotokópoulos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Dominic In Prayer, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 9,154,500.00 (€ 10,460,611.84).

Die Arbeit Christ on the Cross von Doménikos Theotokópoulos kam im Juli 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.434.500,00 (€ 3.451.303,32) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 62%. Für andere Arbeiten von Doménikos Theotokópoulos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Dominic In Prayer beobachtet, die im Juli 2013 für GBP 9.154.500,00 (€ 10.460.611,84) versteigert wurde.
