In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Saint Francis And Brother Leo In Meditation by Doménikos Theotokópoulos. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,871,250.00 (€ 7,732,585.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000,000.00 – 7,000,000.00. Other works by Doménikos Theotokópoulos have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2013 the work Saint Dominic In Prayer was auctioned for GBP 9,154,500.00 (€ 10,460,611.84).
