The work Beaver by Don Nice was worth USD 3,107.00 (€ 2,550.27) to a buyer in August 2004. This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 150.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Don Nice; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Camels sold at auction in January 2011 with the realized price of USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,827.93).
