Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Tang Hung and Fung Bi-Che Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Congratulatory Inscription To Tang Hung'S Painting Exhibition In Oracle Bone Script by Dong Zuobin. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,453.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Dong Zuobin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Jiaguwen in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 525,000.00 (€ 60,674.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Tang Hung and Fung Bi-Che Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Congratulatory Inscription To Tang Hung'S Painting Exhibition In Oracle Bone Script von Dong Zuobin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.453,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dong Zuobin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Jiaguwen im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 525.000,00 (€ 60.674,61).
