Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In October 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work 'Walking Tiger Maquette' (S209) by Dylan Lewis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,187.50 (€ 9,091.52), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dylan Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Walking Cheetahs in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 301,000.00 (€ 204,929.19).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Walking Tiger Maquette' (S209) von Dylan Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.187,50 (€ 9.091,52) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dylan Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Walking Cheetahs im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 301.000,00 (€ 204.929,19).
