In March 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work A race across the sands, Jersey by Edmund Blampied. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,795.26) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmund Blampied have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fording the stream in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 24,327.01).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A race across the sands, Jersey von Edmund Blampied zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.795,26) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund Blampied auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fording the stream im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.535,00 (€ 24.327,01).
