Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Cattle watering in a wooded landscape by Edmund Bristow. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,308.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Bristow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Windsor Castle in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,251.12).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cattle watering in a wooded landscape von Edmund Bristow zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.308,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund Bristow erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Windsor Castle im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 30.251,12).
