Upper estimate price exceeded by 58 %.
The work Old Aker Church by Edvard Munch was sold in the European & British Art, Part I auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. It achieved a price of GBP 63,000.00 (€ 75,233.19), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edvard Munch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Scream in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 119,922,500.00 (€ 96,993,286.96).
