Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Conversation Piece At The Equitable Life Assurance Company by Edward Irvine Halliday for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,398.14). This price was achieved in the auction British and Victorian Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Edward Irvine Halliday have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2006 by the work Portrait of Thomas Fitzroy Phillipps Fenwick Esq., seated full-length, in the library at Thirlestane House at GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,959.05).

Im März 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Conversation Piece At The Equitable Life Assurance Company von Edward Irvine Halliday für GBP 960,00 (€ 1.398,14) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00.
