Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Important Photographs from the Collection of Donald and Alice Lappé, which included the work Narcissus, 1901 by Edward Steichen. It changed hands for a price of USD 187,500.00 (€ 160,971.84) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Steichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flatiron in November last year with an auction result of USD 11,840,000.00 (€ 11,469,534.05).
