Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Liebespaar (Selbstdarstellung Mit Wally) (Lovers - Self-Portrait With Wally) by Egon Schiele was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in February 2013. The price achieved of GBP 7,881,250.00 (€ 9,154,518.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,500,000.00 – 8,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Egon Schiele - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Häuser Mit Bunter Wäsche (Vorstadt Ii) Houses With Laundry (Suburb Ii), which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 24,681,250.00 (€ 27,305,215.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Liebespaar (Selbstdarstellung Mit Wally) (Lovers - Self-Portrait With Wally) von Egon Schiele wurde im Februar 2013 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.881.250,00 (€ 9.154.518,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.500.000,00 – 8.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Egon Schiele mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Häuser Mit Bunter Wäsche (Vorstadt Ii) Houses With Laundry (Suburb Ii) beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 24.681.250,00 (€ 27.305.215,43) versteigert wurde.
