Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Morphwall by Eilís O'Connell was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2016. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,790.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eilís O'Connell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bounce, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,610.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Morphwall von Eilís O'Connell wurde im September 2016 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.790,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Eilís O'Connell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bounce beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.610,16) versteigert wurde.
