In March 2003 Christies in New York held the auction AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS, which included the work Takao sange no dan (Confessions of Takao) by Eishosai Choki. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,604.59), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eishosai Choki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Open seam (Hokorobi) in July last year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 60,186.55).

Im März 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Takao sange no dan (Confessions of Takao) von Eishosai Choki zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.604,59) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eishosai Choki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Open seam (Hokorobi) im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 60.186,55).
