Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Atlas of the Heavens: Six Plates by Elijah Hinsdale Burritt was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,200.92). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elijah Hinsdale Burritt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Atlas of The Heavens: Six Plates, which sold at auction in April 2006 for USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,703.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Atlas of the Heavens: Six Plates von Elijah Hinsdale Burritt im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.640,00 (€ 2.200,92) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Elijah Hinsdale Burritt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Atlas of The Heavens: Six Plates beobachtet, die im April 2006 für USD 7.200,00 (€ 5.703,42) versteigert wurde.
