In the Important American Furniture, Folk Art & Decorative Arts auction, the work Sisters sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,092.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Elijah Pierce have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Judas Kissing Jesus in January this year with an auction result of USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,850.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Elijah Pierce erzielte im Januar 2014 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important American Furniture, Folk Art & Decorative Arts wurde die Arbeit Sisters für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.092,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elijah Pierce auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Judas Kissing Jesus im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.850,43).
