The work Angel of Vengeance by Elijah Pierce was sold in the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction at Christies in January this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,940.00 (€ 22,048.26), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Elijah Pierce; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Judas Kissing Jesus sold at auction in January this year with the realized price of USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,850.43).

Die Arbeit Angel of Vengeance von Elijah Pierce wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 22.048,26) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Elijah Pierce; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Judas Kissing Jesus im Januar diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.850,43).
