Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Essex Roadside by Elinor Bellingham-Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 525.00 (€ 667.02). Admittedly, works by Elinor Bellingham-Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Resevoir in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,461.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Essex Roadside von Elinor Bellingham-Smith im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 525,00 (€ 667,02) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Elinor Bellingham-Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Resevoir im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.461,24).
