Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction By Women, For Tomorrow's Women, which included the work Twenty-Twenty by Ellen Gallagher. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ellen Gallagher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deluxe in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 987,750.00 (€ 760,509.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion By Women, For Tomorrow's Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit Twenty-Twenty von Ellen Gallagher zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.699,32) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ellen Gallagher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deluxe im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 987.750,00 (€ 760.509,70).
