Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Emmy Bridgwater achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March last year. In the The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale auction, the work The kill sold for GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,314.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emmy Bridgwater; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Red, Red Rose sold at auction in March 2020 with the realized price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,586.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Emmy Bridgwater erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale wurde die Arbeit The kill für GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.314,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emmy Bridgwater; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Red, Red Rose im März 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.586,30).
