Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A pomegranate, apricots, grapes and peaches in a wicker basket on a partly-draped stone ledge by Ernst Stuven was sold in the Old Master & British Pictures auction at Christies in London in October 2007. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 7,180.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernst Stuven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, a lily and convulvulus in a glass vase, with two red admiral butterflies and a caterpillar, on a wooden ledge in April 2005 with an auction result of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 79,927.86).

Die Arbeit A pomegranate, apricots, grapes and peaches in a wicker basket on a partly-draped stone ledge von Ernst Stuven wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion Old Master & British Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 7.180,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernst Stuven erzielen.
