Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Euan Macleod achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work New Zealander Lookout 2 sold for AUD 14,400.00 (€ 8,674.51) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Euan Macleod; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Rough Water sold at auction in August 2005 with the realized price of AUD 15,535.00 (€ 9,467.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Euan Macleod erzielte im November 2007 bei Sothebys in Sydney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit New Zealander Lookout 2 für AUD 14.400,00 (€ 8.674,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Euan Macleod; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Rough Water im August 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 15.535,00 (€ 9.467,15).
