This artwork by Eugene Deveria achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2007. In the British & Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work The Madonna and Child sold for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,705.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene Deveria achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reluctant Scholars- Portraits of Mr. G. Barber's Sons in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,892.72).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Eugene Deveria erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British & Continental Watercolours and Drawings wurde die Arbeit The Madonna and Child für GBP 1.187,50 (€ 1.705,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugene Deveria erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Reluctant Scholars- Portraits of Mr. G. Barber's Sons im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.892,72).
