Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in Dubai held the auction International Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Coffee Corner by Faik Hassan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 22,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,741.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Faik Hassan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Baghdadiyat in May this year with an auction result of GBP 190,900.00 (€ 222,113.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion International Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Coffee Corner von Faik Hassan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 22.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 17.741,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Faik Hassan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Baghdadiyat im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 190.900,00 (€ 222.113,42).
