This artwork by Feng Xu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2015. In the Saturday at Sotheby's: Asian Art auction, the work Couplet In Cursive Script sold for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,343.85) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Feng Xu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot a hanging scroll sold at auction in November 2008 with the realized price of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,569.28).
