Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art: European Art, which included the work A Dutch fisher woman by Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,724.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orando A La Dolorosa (Praying To The Dolorosa) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 132,500.00 (€ 185,534.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & European Art: European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Dutch fisher woman von Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.724,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orando A La Dolorosa (Praying To The Dolorosa) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 132.500,00 (€ 185.534,28).
