It achieved a price of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,925.54), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 61%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernando Botero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Musicians in November this year with an auction result of USD 5,132,000.00 (€ 4,704,803.81).

Die Arbeit Sleeping Priests von Fernando Botero kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.925,54) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 61%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernando Botero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Musicians im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.132.000,00 (€ 4.704.803,81).
