Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work S. Stefano Rotondo. 1. Aquedotti dell' Acqua Claudia. by Francesco Piranesi was auctioned at Koller in September 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CHF 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CHF 188.00 (€ 172.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Piranesi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta Del Prospetto Principale Della Colonna Antonina in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,648.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit S. Stefano Rotondo. 1. Aquedotti dell' Acqua Claudia. von Francesco Piranesi im September 2015 bei Koller versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CHF 188,00 (€ 172,34) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Piranesi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veduta Del Prospetto Principale Della Colonna Antonina im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.648,77).
