Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Lady by Francis Hayman was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,000.00 (€ 11,553.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Hayman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Joseph Henry of Straffan, Co. Kildare, full-length, seated at a table writing a letter, in a blue coat, yellow waistcoat and red breeches, beside a bookcase in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 69,750.00 (€ 116,937.46).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady von Francis Hayman kam im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.000,00 (€ 11.553,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Hayman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Joseph Henry of Straffan, Co.
