Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Art Impressionniste et Moderne Evening Auction, which included the work Tarin by Francis Picabia. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,878,500.00 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Picabia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pavonia, which sold at auction in March last year for EUR 9,996,700.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Art Impressionniste et Moderne Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tarin von Francis Picabia zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.878.500,00 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Picabia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pavonia beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für EUR 9.996.700,00 versteigert wurde.
